After not being in operation for a few years, Caribou River Hunting Company is under new ownership and is now taking bookings for guided hunts in this remote location.  The base camp for Caribou River Hunting Company is located in northern Alberta, 640 km. north of Edmonton; 72 km. east of High Level on Highway 58.  We hunt WMU534, which is the remote area north of  Fort Vermillion,  bounded to the north by the Northwest Territories border, east to the Wood Buffalo National Park and south to the Peace River.

The spring bear hunt and November moose hunt is run from base camp which consists of  very comfortable canvas roof tents used as sleeping quarters.  Each building has two single beds with mattress, lighting, wood stove and wash basin.  A portable shower is available as well as phone services and a generator used for power.  A newly constructed  log cabin with running water, power, full bathroom and kitchenette is available for an additional fee.  The September – October moose hunt is run from a very comfortable bush camp.  Our kitchen, with a cook, supplies hearty meals as well as bagged lunches when staying out for the day.

I have over thirty years of hunting and trapping experience and have had the privilege and opportunity of hunting the many varied species of Alberta.  As well as guided hunts, I also own and operate an elk farm at my Spirit River home.  I am also a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club.
